Changes
- Revised anti-aliasing via TAA:
- Ghosting effects when looking through a translucent surface have been resolved.
- General ghosting has been slightly reduced.
- A TAA+ method has been added that utilizes FXAA to enhance quality, especially for entities and moving elements in the scene.
- The "Sharp TAA" method was removed.
- An inaccurate calculation of the volumetric light position has been corrected, which previously caused light to appear behind certain surfaces.
- Translucent object shadows have been set as default. Previous shadows remain available optionally.
Changes
- Increased compatibility and support for some custom dimensions (Iris only). Tested in Ad Astra, The Aether, Deeper and Darker.
- Fixed the brightness of enchanted objects in darkness.
- Fixed an issue with the sky color when the player was in a pale garden biome and other similar biomes that adjust the sky color.
- Fixed a compilation error message that only appeared in OptiFine.
Changes
- The way fog is applied has been improved so that it looks better during transitions between open and enclosed areas, eliminating some strange behaviors such as when looking through a window or the sensation of fog existing indoors.
- Water transparency viewed from inside has been adjusted.
- Some colors have been subtly fine-tuned.
Changes
Support was added to some blocks of the following mods (thanks to DadamaldaDad):
- Create + addons like Big Cannons, Dreams & Desires (including some legacy blocks), Deco, Encased, Framed, Enchantment Industry, Bitterballen (sunflower only)
- Deeper & Darker
- L_Ender's Cataclysm
- Farmer's Delight + Vegan Delight
- Sophisticated Backpacks
- Naturalist
Minor adjustments have been made to some blocks (thanks to DadamaldaDad).
A problem with the sky color in older versions of Minecraft that was introduced recently has been fixed.
Changes
- An initial code refactor has been performed.
- Unused code has been removed.
- "Artifacts" in water reflections have been reduced.
- Water lighting in caves has been fixed.
- Vanilla water now integrates correctly with Distant Horizons water.
- Shadows now use two additional samples to improve quality, especially during motion and when temporal sampling is not used.
- Default cloud samples have increased from 7 to 10.
- The "Witness" color scheme has been added.
Changes:
- Added support for Additional Lanterns. Lanterns now emit dynamic light when held in hand.
- Basic support for TerraFirmaCraft has been added. Custom water rendering has been improved, and the correct lighting model is used for plants and tree leaves. Preparations have been made for future support of the mod's metal blocks.
- Added support for the upcoming new leaf block in Minecraft 1.21.2.
- The mechanism for calculating the sky color gradient has been changed. It is now done in XYZ space.
- Fixed an issue in the Nether where fog distance in Vanilla was incorrectly chosen when using Distant Horizons.
Changes
- Support for Distant Horizons has been added under Iris.
- The water normals have been changed to look less "static." Now the water ripples a bit in a rainy environment.
For Distant Horizons you need:
- Minecraft 1.20.1 or higher.
- Iris 1.7 or higher.
- Distant Horizons 2.0.3 or higher
It does not work on Optifine, it is an exclusive feature of Iris.
Known issues:
- Changing some Distant Horizons options causes black spots to appear on the screen. Reloading the shader will resolve the issue.
Changes:
- Adjusted the way the glow of metal objects is generated and added missing metal objects.
- Fixed a typo of the word "strength" throughout all code and translations (thanks to artelidiot).
- Adjusted the DOF focus speed to work better in normal gameplay (with the latest versions of Iris the object in the hand no longer causes problems).
